Executive Assistant & Social Media Manager

This is a remote job, you will not be expected to travel to work, however, there will be opportunities to attend our events in Bristol and in South-West England should you wish.


(You will be given full training)

  • (Manage the day-to-day handling of the Palm Culture Instagram account (@thepalmculture). This involves creating and planning posts via a scheduling software, running daily interactive stories, and growing the account through engagement and interaction.

  • Develop creative and engaging social media strategies to increase brand awareness. This may involve competitions and promotional campaigns.

  • Negotiate brand deals and partnerships with potential social media influencers for collaborative marketing.

  • Support the Events Manager by contacting our sponsored clubs and other UK university watersports clubs, to schedule events, competitions and on-water sessions.

  • Support the Events Manager by liaising with wave, wake and water-front centres in the UK to arrange event bookings.

  • Support the Director by assisting with the administrative side of club merchandise orders and brand collaborations.

  • Respond to customer queries through the website and social media channels.

Skills & Experience

  • Strong written communication skills, including proofing and editing.

  • Good verbal communication and inter-personal skills.

  • Solid understanding of social media platforms (primarily Instagram, Facebook and TikTok). Experience using these in a professional / brand-based capacity is desirable. Experience of social media marketing is also desirable.

  • Knowledge of social media scheduling software (e.g. Later), graphic design software (e.g. Adobe Photoshop) and administrative software (e.g. Microsoft Excel, Google Drive) is desirable.

  • Excellent organisational skills, with the capacity to prioritise tasks and work across multiple projects.

  • Creative thinking skills for contributing new and innovative ideas.

  • Interest in travel, adventure and the watersports / skate scene, with a desire to help promote these in a sustainable way.

  • Please note: all software will be provided for you.

  • Minimum age - 18.
